Message	smog status, the displacement alone is not what determines the legality of the engine; state of tune is more of factor than anything else. If displacement alone determined the legality of an engine, VIPERS would never pass smog. There are many issues you should consider when stroking a motor. Longevity is the main one as it increases certain angles between the piston and rods; DINAN developed a 2.8 stroker kit for the BMW 325 motor, but it increased certain angles between the piston and rod and cause longevity problems - main reason kit is no longer offered, but they will never admit to it. As Spee mentioned there are other mods that will give you more bang for your buck. SORRY FOR THE LONG POST.
